Reisers is situated at the Würzburger Stein vineyards and is one of the most exclusive gourmet restaurants in the city. The place is impeccable, simply stunning. It is modern but traditional, exclusive but cosy, and the service is friendly and professional.
Reisers doesn't have a standard menu, but rather embraces the seasonality of food, creating their daily dishes and multiple course menus from what's fresh and available on the market. The seasonal availability of a particular produce is celebrated with style: now it's October and that means pumpkins! My entree was a divine combination of pumpkin and salmon done four different ways and accompanied by some quality Stein Silvaner wine, which was utterly exquisite. For the main course, a succulent young bull beef steak with braised cheek served on a bed of celery puree and garnished with carrots. This dish was so tender, luxurious, delicious, delightful...I can't stop raving about it. Seriously, I think I just died and gone to heaven. The Stein Spätburgunder wine to go with it wasn't bad either =).
Dessert consisted of one of my most favourite things in the world and that's chocolate ice cream, which was coupled with berries and panna cotta. You can't get any better than that. *sigh*
So if I had 50 Euro to spare every day I think I would eat there religiously.
Go eat, have some wine and enjoy. I highly recommend it. Here's some photos to entice you Babelfish foodies.

All too often, guests ask our staff to recommend them a place to eat out in Würzburg. As a result we've decided to add a 'Food and Wine' category to our blog to assist our guests in their dining decision and to also give fellow foodies out there, in the true sense of the expression, some food for thought.
Whether it be traditional German-Franconian cuisine to authentic Asian food, Würzburg has it all. Würzburg has a wide variety of eating and drinking establishments to choose from, ranging from quality restaurants and bars to local pubs and cafe-restaurants. And not to mention, the superb wine that is grown in this region. In our blog we will be introducing a selection of restaurants that we have sampled and enjoyed ourselves on many occasions or have had highly recommended by other locals.
