Würzburg The Beauty - The First 600 (photo exhibition)

One of Würzburg’s most well-known Instagrammers, Boris Albert aka @borisa82, brings his IG feed to life in his “Würzburg The Beauty” photo exhibition at the Rathaus. The exhibition shows “The First 600” of his one-picture-a-day shots that originally started out as a 365-day photo project in March 2015.
Wunschlos Jazzing (Jazz/Open Stage)

Club Katze is probably best known for their Monday parties with a proper “Querbeet” music selection (think everything classics, charts, hip hop, house, electro) and their infamous “Getränkepyramide” – prices for all drinks start from 1€ at 10pm, then increase by 1€ every hour until they meet their original price tag eventually. Filmkonzert: Lichter der Großstadt (film-concert)

The Mainfrankenthater presents a film-philharmonic edition of Charlie Chaplin’s Lichter der Großstadt (City Lights). The silent movie screening is musically accompanied by Würzburg’s Philharmonic Orchestra. We highly recommend getting your hands on some tickets if you get the chance (online, via e-mail reservation, or at the box office)!

Die Päpstin: Das Ballett (ballet)

Anna Vita’s Die Päpstin (Pope Joan) is based on motives from Donna Woolfolk Cross’ historical novel of the same name. The ballet artfully portraits a historical society which is characterized by traditional conventions, roles and hierarchical structures, and cleverly draws references to our present times. The music selection includes a cross-section of spiritual works from the Baroque period up to contemporary sounds and thus reflects the tension between fictional historical history and today.

Meisterwerke der Riemenschneiderzeit (exhibition)
@ Mainfränkisches Museum Festung Marienberg, 10am-4pm
The current special exhibition at the Mainfränkisches Museum is praised as small but “spectacular and top-quality”. The internationally renowned Liebieghaus in Frankfurt is lending its world-famous collection sculptural “masterpieces of the Riemenschneider period”, including works by Hans Erhscher, Michel Erhart, Daniel Mauch or Hans Leinberger, to name only a few famous sculptors. A total of 20 sculptures will be shown. They enable the direct comparison of the works of Tilman Riemenschneider, preserved in the Mainfränkisches Museum, with the works of his contemporaries. “A unique museum co-operation and a unique opportunity that no middle-aged and Riemenschneider fan should miss!”
