Ab big part of having an “authentic” travel experience is going where the locals go and doing what the locals do. Easier said than done, eh? This is why we are taking to our personal agendas every week, compiling a little list of events and things you might want to check out too. No, we won’t tell you about that house party we got invited to the other night (sorry!), but here’s what we can recommend apart from that for this week:
·       ALL WEEK: Würzburger Frühjahrsvolksfest (Spring Fun Fair 05.03.-20.03.)
@ Talavera; Mo-Thu 2pm-11pm, Fr-Sa 2pm-midnight, Su noon-10:30pm
Rollercoasters, cotton candy, beer tent! Need we say more?

·       MONDAY: Perlenkino „Grown Up Animations“ (movie night)
@ Kellerperle; 8:30pm; free
The Kellerperle is many things but your average student club (read: you don’t have to be a student to enjoy their events). The team behind the scenes puts on a great varied program every month, including a weekly movie night. This month’s theme is “Grown Up Animations”, maybe drop them a line on Facebook to see which language this week’s movie will be shown in.

·       TUESDAY: Montreal & Die Alex Mofa Gang (German punk rock)
@ CAIRO; 8pm; 15,00 EUR
Montreal is a fun punk rock band from Hamburg, playing concerts all over the globe for over ten years now. Their current tour is called “Alles wird schlimmer” (everything is getting worse) and they’re making a stop in Würzburg, playing at CAIRO this Tuesday.

·       WEDNESDAY: mia blüht (singer/songwriter)
@ Wunschlos Glücklich; 7pm; free
The Wunschlos Glücklich is not only one of our favourite places to have brunch dates on Sundays, but also to enjoy small, very intimate concerts. This week mia blüht, a singer/songwriter from Hamburg is bringing her lovely chansons to the stage, have a listen here. PS: Did we mention it’s free?

·       FRIDAY: Nachtasyl w/ Eulen:Haupt & Pupkulis (house, electro)
@ Kurt & Komisch; 11pm
One of our favourite new (well, not that new anymore) clubs in town is promising a night of “house, melodic electronica and grownup, warm dance music” as a “foretaste of summer and loud nights beneath the stars.” Sounds pretty good, right? You can check out the artists here and here.

·       SATURDAY: 90’s & 2000’s Party
@ Posthalle; 10pm; 7,00 EUR
Travel back in time on Saturday when the Posthalle opens its gates for its legendary 90’s (and 2000’s, but who cares) party. 2 floors, hip hop, rock, techno, pop – hit me baby one more time! And the best thing? It’s right across the street from our hostel!

·       SUNDAY: Museum im Kulturspeicher / “Niederländische Moderne” (art exhibitons)
@ Museum im Kulturspeicher; 11am-6pm; 4,50 EUR
Sundays usually are very slow days here in Würzburg. Basically everything in the city centre is closed – except for a) cafés and b) museums. We highly recommend combining the two, starting off with a relaxed cup of coffee somewhere (e.g. at Café Fred) and then getting your art-fix at the Kulturspeicher. The current temporary exhibition “Niederländische Moderne” (Dutch modernism) is just starting at Saturday.
