Sadly, our nice summer tradition of Monday BBQs on the Hostel terrace came to a close, so here’s an alternative suggestion: Tex-Mex cuisine! The Mexican restaurant and bar Enchilada
is offering a Fajita Special every Monday (and they’re making a good Mojito if you ask us).

The University’s Institute for Music Research is hosting an open lieder recital at the Würzburg Residence
this Wednesday evening. Susanne Lampidis-Pirsch (mezzo-soprano) and Armin Fuchs (piano) are interpreting works by Carl Nielsen, Edvard Grieg, Ture Rangström, and Jean Sibelius. The entry is free, so this might be a nice alternative to the usual touristy visit to the Residence and Court Gardens.

Usually, impressionism is associated with bright colors and vibrant paintings. Did you know though, that almost all prominent Impressionist painters have created work (mostly prints) in black and white? The Museum im Kulturspeicher
shows a representative selection of the most outstanding works of internationally renowned artists such as Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Edouard Manet, Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissarro and James McNeill Whistler, as well as works by German artists like Max Slevogt, Lovis Corinth, Max Liebermann, and Ludwig von Gleichen-Russwurm in their current special exhibition (18.09.-20.11.2016).
