Meisterwerke der Riemenschneiderzeit (exhibition)
@ Mainfränkisches Museum (Marienberg Fortress), 10am-5pm
The current special exhibition at the Mainfränkisches Museum is praised as small but “spectacular and top-quality”. The internationally renowned Liebieghaus in Frankfurt is lending its world-famous collection sculptural “masterpieces of the Riemenschneider period”, including works by Hans Erhscher, Michel Erhart, Daniel Mauch or Hans Leinberger, to name only a few famous sculptors. A total of 20 sculptures will be shown. They enable the direct comparison of the works of Tilman Riemenschneider, preserved in the Mainfränkisches Museum, with the works of his contemporaries. “A unique museum co-operation and a unique opportunity that no middle-aged and Riemenschneider fan should miss!”

Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God.  – Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones, NT Live: The Comedy of Errors) plays Salieri and Adam Gillen plays Amadeus in Peter Shaffer’s iconic play, broadcast live from the National Theatre, and with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia.”
